Stelios announces launch of easyToilet
Stelios shows off the first new easyToilet
in Felcham city centre
It's very cheap and it's very, very orange - but is easyToilet any good? As the low-cost revolution forges into the public convenience market, Stelios Haji-Ioannou is right at the front launching a brand new concept that just might change the way you toilet forever.

Have you ever been in town and thought , 'yeh i need a dump, but I don't want to pay these extortionate prices to go, if only i could go cheaper - IF ONLY I COULD BOOK ONLINE AND SAVE'. Well, now you can. easyToilet from the always groundbreaking EasyGroup is offering a few willing volunteers in the Felcham area a chance to test the pioneering service.

The concept is simple; pre-book your movement up to 24 hours in advance then arrive on time with your pre-printed toilet paper and wait in the no-frills toilet block until you are told to go by the extremely friendly, though unattractive, toilet warden.

In a candid interview Mr Haji-Ioannou explained, 'these fat cats in local council have had it too good for far too long. People today are not willing to pay 20p for a second rate service just because they have no choice. Well now they do - I am giving the power back to the people, the power to choose where and when they want to toilet.

The ever chrismatic Stelios proves
once again that he's just like us

Not surprisingly, easyToilet is experiencing resistance from the main toilet providers, who control more than 90% of the market (Local council, Superloo Ltd). However, this hasn't deterred customers. According to easyGroup, the Felcham unit has already achieved a 56% occupancy in its first week of operation. Its break even target is 50% occupancy at an average ticket price of 8 - 18p.

Even though not all of easyGroup's ventures are massive winners, the group's ongoing yield management and cost-reduction obsessed concepts have the potential to shake-up or even disrupt plenty of B2C categories and sectors.

To help keep the costs down all soap, hand dryers and sinks have been removed. It might just catch on, so keep your eyes peeled for one opening near you soon - and don't forget to clean up after yourself.
