A local town Reverend has been charged with drug offences following a police sting operation in Hampshire.

Teams of officers arrested Reverend John Willows, 67 of Andover, whilst he was trekking across a popular family walking area in the Cotswald Hills on Sunday morning.

The dangerous class A drug, psilocybe mushrooms were cleverly concealed in his boot treads. The evil Willows had concealed 3 of the potent hallucinogenic mushrooms in the treads of his left boot and 1 in his right.

It is presumed the child poisoning Reverend intended to smuggle the drugs through the Langley Hill Trekking Centre car park and then transport them back to his parish drug den to concoct a vicious 'mushroom brew'.

Magic mushrooms are known to trigger mental illness, in particular, they may trigger an episode of psychosis in people who are susceptible to its lethal effects, such as innocent children.

The arrest came as a surprise to local members of his parish who described him as a very quiet and kind man who has a spotless history of serving the Andover community for over 37 years.

"I would never have expected Reverend Willows could have been involved in something like this", said local housekeeper Mary Thorne, "He was always very against drugs of any kind, but to be found with all those horrible mushrooms on him is just shocking"

A police spokesman revealed the arrest was part of a continuing operation in the district.

"Intelligence-led operations will continue throughout the district in an attempt to bring to justice people who traffic mushrooms to the children of Hampshire, Dorset & Wiltshire," he said.
